But I don't understand. My ethernet card is installed as a 1394 HOST CONTROLLER or is that not the same thing? How can I get it to realize its just a regular 1394 card and has nothing to do with the internet? Post Comments |

I wouldn't worry about it Ausef if it's working correctly, Windows called my Highpoint RAID controller a SCSI controller when it was IDE it's just something for the machine to call it in general terms, especially if the drivers for it are MS. Generally if you add driver s for a device it will add a file to the system/inf/other folder and usually then call the dev ice the right name (but not always). Post Comments |

Yeah I know its my firewire card, but what is a 1394 NET ADAPTER? That is so strange!
Also, I am connecting great, but my roadrunner software says that I don't have an ethernet card installed!
Very odd

It calls it a Net Adapter since as it has communication protocols associated to it. Nothing to worry about or be concerned over. Post Comments |

You're both right. I figured out a little myself.. I disabled it, and I connected fine to the i nternet, but when I tried to use netmeeting I got no picture from my cam. Sort of like what wou ld happen in Windows 2000.
So I enabled the 1394 Net adapter, and VOILA, my cam is working as if by magic!!
